What is Lorem Ipsum?
Lorem ipsum is scrambled Latin used as dummy text in design and publishing. It is based on a passage from Cicero's “De Finibus Bonorum et Malorum”, written in 45 BC, and has been used as filler since the 1500s.
Is the text real Latin?
It looks like Latin, but the words are cut up and rearranged so the result is nonsense. That is the point: it reads like text without distracting you with meaning.
How do I get exactly the amount I need?
Choose paragraphs, sentences, words, characters or list items and set the number. “Characters” produces text of up to that length and always ends on a whole word.
Can I get HTML or Markdown?
Yes. Choose HTML to wrap each paragraph in p tags, or Markdown for plain paragraphs. Turn on headings to add h2 or ## titles, and choose list items for a ready-made ul or Markdown list.
Why would I use Business or Tech words instead of Latin?
English filler helps when you want a mockup to feel closer to real content, such as a SaaS landing page or a dashboard. It is still random, so it makes no real sense.
