Tips for using fancy fonts
Keep it readable
Use fancy styles for names, headings and short phrases. Long paragraphs in decorative Unicode are hard to read, and screen readers may skip them.
Not every app shows every glyph
Bold, italic, script and fullwidth work almost everywhere. Rarer styles such as runes or Glagolitic can appear as empty boxes on older devices.
Usernames and search
Fancy characters are not the same as normal letters, so people may not find you by searching your plain name. Keep a plain version in your handle.
Questions people ask
How can fancy text work without installing fonts?
These styles are Unicode characters, not font files. Unicode includes bold, italic, script and many other look-alike alphabets, so the text works anywhere that can display Unicode.
Where can I use fancy text?
Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, Discord, WhatsApp, Telegram, Steam, YouTube and most game name fields. Some sites filter unusual characters in usernames, so test one before committing.
Why do some letters show as empty boxes?
The device or app you are viewing on has no font containing that character. Switch to a more common style such as Bold, Italic or Script, which almost every modern device supports.
Are fancy fonts accessible?
Screen readers often read Unicode look-alike letters as symbols or skip them. Use them sparingly and never for essential information such as prices, dates or instructions.
Why are some styles uppercase only?
Several enclosed alphabets, such as filled circles and squares, only exist as capitals in Unicode. The generator converts your letters to capitals for those styles.
Is my text stored?
No. Everything is generated in your browser. The only thing saved is your list of starred styles, and it stays on your device.
